So, I suppose I should start off with an introduction. You can call me Divaz... a diva I am not. That's why there is a "z" on the end. I live in the midwest with my family... this includes four amazing children, 4 bunnies, and excitement that never ends. The oldest of my children is my only son, and the rest are beautiful little girls.
Poor little guy kept begging for a little brother, but the odds just weren't in our favor. Now, he lives in a world of pink & purple, where everything is soft, cute, and usually covered in glitter and kittens, and they want him to use his legos to make improvements on their Barbie Doll house, and wear fairy wings anytime they deem appropriate. He is ordered to play "ring around the rosie" at any given time, and is forced to sacrifice part of his room when any one of them has a bad dream, or just needs bubby cuddle time. He is very understanding, and I think, secretly enjoys being their best friend... though, he's still a boy, and craves someone to play sports, ride bikes, skin his knees, get dirty, and "shop talk" with. Not that the girls don't do these things, because lord knows they LOVE to get dirty, play outside, and climb trees with the best of them... though a game of football often turns into a 3 against 1 pile up, and scoring consists of their terms, and as they see fit. Again, he complies... for the most part.
My son is 10. He's tall, strong, handsome, and everything I could ask for from a boy in a house full of girls. He is on the spectrum (undiagnosed) and is very high functioning. We suspect (through testing by the schools, and IEP) he is Aspergers, and possible ADD. For the most part it is unnoticeable to the common person... you know the saying "But he looks so normal!" Yeah, he does, and he is. He's beautiful, and he's no victim.
My youngest is also thought to be on the spectrum. She is 2, and shows many signs of Autism, along with Sensory Disorders... but don't let these things fool you... she is spunky and full of personality and attitude. She has a mind of her own, and will let you know... in her own way. Though she rarely speaks, she communicates very clearly. You just have to be paying attention.
The other two are 6 and 3, and best friends to the end... most of the day. They are sisters to the core, and are amazing girls to be around. They talk... and talk... and talk more, then they will explain everything they're talking about, just to make sure everyone is clear on the point they are trying to make. Beautiful, intelligent, unique little creatures they are. Unicorns and rainbows 4 life :)
Our home is never quiet and always a little messy... something is almost always cooking, whether it's sibling rivary or in the crock pot. We are a mixture of pure awesomeness with a dash of love to keep it all kosher. No matter what the day brings, or how many melt downs, time outs, or hours of homework to be done... we laugh, talk, cry, scream, whatever it takes, we do it... cook it and serve it up... the dash of love brings it all together, and let's us know that tomorrow is, in fact, a new day, and a new beginning.
